Photograph caption circa 1958 reads, "Double image here plus daily ritual of make-up application makes Darlene twice as lovely. 'I don't believe in using a lot of make-up,' she said. 'All I ever use is lipstick, powder and just a little mascara.'" Darlene is Darlene Tompkins, 17, of Pacoima who holds the title of Junior Miss Van Nuys.
