Image of a man wheeling a giant 90 lb. cabbage in a wheelbarrow on dirt road on the way to a county fair in an advertisement for Rice's Seeds of Cambridge, New York.
"The largest cabbage in the world, averaging 30 lbs. a head by the acre single specimens sometimes weighing 90 lbs. quality very tender sweet & excellent."--text, top center of image. "This is without doubt the largest variety of the cabbage family in the world. We have had heads when stripped of all waste leaves, that could not be got into a 2 bushel basket, having a diameter 2 inches greater. Our patrons generally succeed in growing the mammoth to the weight of 30 & 40 lbs. and in some instances over 90."--text in banner frame, bottom center of image. "Boys, try and grow a big cabbage for the fair. Large sized packets found only in Rice's box of choice vegetables. Cambridge Valley Seed Gardens. Rice's Seeds.
