"Ouidah (Dahomey) - Le Temple du Serpent." ("The Temple of the Snake.") The postcard contains two separate images. In the larger picture, seven children stand in front of a long thatched-roof structure that encircles a small grove of trees. In the smaller picture, two adults hold snakes around their shoulders. Postcard issued by the "Societe Des Missions Africaines - 150, Cours Gambetta, Lyon." The back of the postcard has a handwritten note in French and contains a printed note from the publisher: "Procure des Missions Africaines - 11, rue Crillon, Paris, IVe - Ch. Post. 1816-60 - Pour l'amour du Christ et des Ames, Aider les Missionnaires dans leurs Oeuvres d'Apostolat...C'est etre Missionnaire soi-meme! Celui qui aide l'Apotre, Recoit la recompense de l'Apotre!" ("For the love of Christ and Hearts, to Aid the Missionaries in their Works of the Apostolate" is to be a Missionary oneself! That which helps an Apostle, Receives the reward of an Apostle!")
