Photograph of an interior view showing stairs in the Winchester "Mystery" House, Santa Clara (near San Jose), California, 1923. Looking down, six steps lead to a landing. A case of vertical wooden slats serve as balusters and bannisters. The surrounding walls are also covered with vertical wooden slats. The ceiling is covered with horizontal wooden slats. A switch[?] with two buttons is attached to the casing to the right of the stairs. A small square window is situated high above the stairs in the side wall.
