Description: This circa 1955 postcard shows a “Ranch House” at Parkway Estates, near Florin Road and California Highway 99. Founded in 1953, the housing community promoted itself as having the most up-to-date architecture and amenities for post-World War II homes. The neighborhood hosted the 1954 Parade of Homes, a national exposition to showcase trends in housing construction.
