Photograph caption dated April 26, 1961 reads "Declares Russian feat is a stimulant." The article partially reads "Col. Clarence L. (Lee) Battle gave his personal reaction to the historical flight into space after he delivered a formal speech to dedicate the new 'Avenue of Missiles' at Lockheed Aircraft's Missiles and Space Division, 7701 Woodley Ave." The Lockheed facility is in Van Nuys.
