Photograph article dated May 14, 1963 partially reads, "'Where Integrity Has Meaning' has been the code of ethics followed by Carl Matisse, one of the West Valley's oldest automobile agencies. It has paid off richly for Matisse and last week he opened an expanded facility at the corner of Ventura Blvd. and Encino Ave. in Encino, which is one of the most unique and best equipped in the area... The facilities include everything from lubrication, tuneup and electrical service to major mechanical overhaul." Pictured is Carl Matisse next to the sign, with assistant Mark Purpus, keeping the ladder steady.
