Photograph caption dated February 18, 1957 reads, "Snow-like foam stops fire in minutes - Two Air National Guard firemen from 146th Fighter-Interceptor Wing look like men from mars as they cover jet with foam. It took two minutes to completely quell this mock blaze. They can pull pilot from cockpit in 30 seconds after they arrive on scene. Asbestos suits enable men to withstand fire and heat long enough to rescue pilot."
