Photograph of a detail shot of a Department of Public Works road roughness recorder, ca.1940. At center, a metal framework with three bicycle-style wheels is shown, a cylinder attached at left. Above this section, two letters are shown indicationg the profile wheel and counter with a "P" and a "C" respectively. This machine was drawn along the street and counted the bumps and hollows. The images is for a 1940 yearbook.
