Description
Woman on left wears a dark gray morning dress with long sleeves and an empire waist. The dress is trimmed with black at the hem, cuffs, and along the front closure. The sleeves puff a bit at the shoulders; these puffs are decorated with black. The dress has a black band under the bust, a line of black buttons or beads that scoops along the yoke, and a high, lacy white collar edged in black. The woman wears dark gray gloves and shoes. Her cylindrical, dark gray hat is trimmed with black around its rigid crown. Its softer, upper portion is trimmed with dark gray cord and tassels and a pouf of dark gray ribbon. The woman on the right wears a pale gray evening dress with an empire waist and short, puffed sleeves. The neck is low, scooped, and edged with pointed, white lace. The sleeves have three tiers of white scalloped lace at the shoulders and are edged with light gray ruffles. There is a light gray ruffle under the bust and three tiers of gray lace at the hem. The woman wears light gray shoes, stockings, and elbow-length gloves. She has light gray flowers in her hair and wears gray, teardrop earrings and a twisted, gray choker with a pendant. She is seated on a footstool or ottoman that is upholstered in light blue, flower-printed cloth, with a ruffle. She holds a pink booklet or program or dance card in her right hand.
