Description
This tape covers topics such as the Watts Riots (or Rebellion) of 1965 and Glenn Anderson's 1966 campaign for re-election as Lieutenant Governor 1966. Glenn Anderson is an American Politician and significant to the history of California as he served as the 37th Lieutenant Governor of California and also as a congressman for nearly 20 years. He was instrumental in establishing the democratic party in California and intimately involved in the California gubernatorial elections of 1962 [Brown vs. Nixon] as California was thought to be a republican stronghold at the time, as well as the election of 1966 [Brown vs. Nixon]. This recording was taken during the Democratic National Convention held in Los Angeles, California in 1960, which nominated John F. Kennedy for President and Lyndon B. Johnson for Vice President.
