Photograph caption dated March 28, 1950 reads, "Mrs. Fred Vanderlip, who donated the memorial, and Willis Daggs, president of the West Valley Y.M.C.A., dedicate plaque and flag on 'Y' grounds to Valley youths who lost their lives in World War II." Dedication services were held at the West Valley YMCA, 14547 Hamlin St., Van Nuys.
