Earl Ehrhardt (left), co-inventor of smokeless smudge pot is pictured with Arthur Hocker (right) of San Fernando, who is an investigator for Air Pollution Control District. The new equipment is an application of the jet plane engine principle using a stove-pipe shaped contraption which functions as a heater, replacing smudge pots. The officials have put the device through its test and have reached the conclusion it was a "pretty good heater." Photograph dated April 19, 1950.
