Photograph article dated March 26, 1962 partially reads, "Flood control is a do-it-yourself thing in Kagel Canyon. Led by their civic association, some 100 canyon residents are spending their evenings and weekends shoring up the banks of the canyon's creek. Their aim: to prevent future land slippage and erosion of earth from under houses as happened during the creek's recent rampage." Photograph caption reads, "Kagel Canyon residents initiate own flood control projects. Jack Wilson, left, and M. L. Bennett labor in creek bottom."
