Description
Photograph of an interior view showing a dining room in the Winchester "Mystery" House, Santa Clara (near San Jose), California, 1923. An ornate metal chandelier with candleholders shaped life treble clefs hangs down from a round panelled area in the ceiling. A brick fireplace with balusters holding up shelves over the mantle and a mirror on the wall is the centerpiece of the room. A narrow window is on each side of the fireplace. Wood panelling covers the remaining walls and ceiling (which has protruding wooden knobs). A draping arc of wooden dowels forms a decoration over the entry to an adjacent room at left.
