Description
Photograph of the Boundary Oak, trees, and an automobile in Griffith Park, May 13, 1941. The tree can be seen laying on its side at center. A hole can be seen in the bark of the tree at left. The foreground is shrouded in shade, while other trees can be seen behind the oak. An automobile can be seen below the hill at right. A drawn border is visible around the image. Buildings are depicted at left and at right with archways in front and flags flying from the top of the building. At top and bottom, the outline of a bear with "LA" written at its center can be seen amongst flowers. The oak served to delineate the boundaries of three of the original ranchos.
