Image of an idyllic family scene endorsing temperance with a well-dressed man entering his yard towards his home through a gate in a white picket fence; he is greeted by his son and daughter as he makes his way towards the house, and his wife waits for him in the doorway with a baby on her hip; town buildings along a river near mountains in background.
"Lith. by N. Currier, 152 Nassau St. Cor. of Spruce N.Y."--text, bottom margin. "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1848 by N. Currier, in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of the Southern District of New York."--text, bottom center margin. ""Behold the son of Temperance, with buoyant heart and step, returning to his home; the partner of his bosom looks up and smiles his welcome; his children fly to meet him, their little arms embrace him, and with lip and heart they bless him." 568."--text, bottom center margin.
