Description
Shown is a 1940 postcard showing the grandstand at the California State Fair. The 1940 fair was the most attended California State Fair up to that point. Over 700,000 visitors came to the fair over the eleven-day event, even as the Golden Gate International Exposition was held in San Francisco in the same year.
