Photograph caption dated June 10, 1960 reads, "David Hoover, 7, 12614 Herrick St., and his pal, Doyle Stowe, 7 1/2, 14243 Aztec St., Sylmar, display baby bird they found after it fell from nest. Boys are caring for it in shoe box home until it is strong enough to venture forth in the world."
