Singer Sarah Vaughan stands at the microphone during the fourth annual African American Living Legends Series program held at the A C Bilbrew Library, during which she was honored. Other honorees included contralto Marian Anderson, White House seamstress and housemaid Lillian Rogers Parks, civil rights activist Rosa Parks, education reformer Marnesba Tackett, Los Angeles Sentinal publisher Ruth Washington, and Los Angeles leader Vassie Wright.
