Photograph caption dated February 27, 1961 reads "Mid Valley YMCA Men's Club contributed $250 to the YMCA capital fund drive for the large new Y center which will be constructed at 6901 Lennox Ave., Van Nuys. S. R. Mercer Jr., left, Mid Valley general campaign chairman, accepted the first installment of a pledge of $10,000 from Al Wilcox, president of the Mid Valley Men's Y's Club. The check was presented at the Lennox avenue site of construction."
