Photograph caption dated February 2, 1954 reads, "Officials of the North Hollywood YMCA fund drive don space attire at kickoff dinner for the expected torrid race between divisions in the public subscription campaign. From now until Feb. 15, these space leaders, left to right, the Rev. Herbert Schneider, the Rev. John Simmons, Gene Showalter, 'Bus' Blanchard and Dick Gulbranson, with the help of cadets like Richie Gulbranson, seated left, and Paul Mosher, will be seeking $38,300 to insure against retrenchment in 'Y' programs."
