Description
A photo of Hofmann Grocery, Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles, circa 1920s. The view shows the proprietor, identified on the reverse as "Grandpa Hofmann" standing at the center and wearing a white apron. Around him are cases, tables, counters and shelving filled with a variety of goods. Display signs abound, as well, and types of products include several kinds (Hills Brothers, MJB, Schilling, Newmark) of coffee, Mother's noodles, Ghirardelli chocolate, Mission Bell soap, Heinz condiments and more. The reverse inscription also gives the name of the neighborhood in which the store operated. With some stains and soiling on the matte, but a clean photo, the condition is good.
