Description
This elevated view of K Street, looking east from its intersection with Eighth Street, was photographed on December 12, 1939. Well-layered pedestrians make their way along the sidewalks and vehicular traffic includes both buses and cars. Visible businesses, many hungry for Holiday business, include as follows: Silver's Jewelers at 800 K Street, Dr. Edward F. Schneider, Dentist, at 1105 Eighth Street, W.J. Martin's Men’s Furnishings at 802 K Street, Berland's Shoe Store at 804 K Street, the Hotel Clunie at 805 K Street, United Jewelers at 807 K Street, Florsheim Shoe Store at 809 K Street, Mode O'Day Women's Clothing at 810 K Street, Edward C. Lewis Women's Clothing at 812 K Street, Leed's Shoe Store at 814 K Street, De Von's Jewelers at 816 K Street, S.H. Kress and Company Notions at 818 K Street, Factory Store Women's Furnishings at 821 K Street, Fox Senator Theatre at 912 K Street, the Hotel Land at 1106 Tenth Street, and the Hotel Regis at 1106 Eleventh Street.
