They really demonstrated how that old phrase, "losing your shirt in golf," originated when links enthusiasts of the Sunfreze Ice Cream Co. staged their annual golf party on July 24, 1934, at Girard Golf Club. Here is the feature foursome teeing off in their "strip golf party," the losing team to forfeit a piece of clothing on every hole. Left to right, they are E. W. "Josephine" Beebe, F. W. "Dolly" Whittaker, Joe "Rosie" Corey, while H. E. "Mary" McGee swings at the ball. The four men are dressed in women's clothing.
