Description
Kolster Radio Compass and Position Finder, built by Federal Telegraph Company, as seen from the side across the top deck of the SS President McKinley, with ship's name across Captain's bridge, in Seattle. One of at least three shots taken for Federal Telegraph to show the Kolster Radio Compass, installed around 1922. The President McKinley was one of five ships allocated by the US government to the Admiral Oriental Line. Originally named the Keystone State, it was renamed President McKinley in 1922. It cruised the South Pacific from its home port in Seattle.
