Description
This circa 1940 postcard shows Boitano's Restaurant at 710 J Street. Founded in 1908 by first generation Italian-American Fred Boitano, he sold the business in 1942 to partner Raymond Macchiavelli, who operated the business for another 35 years. Macchiavelli had started out as a busboy for Boitano. Under both names, the business was a popular spot for attorneys and judges from the Sacramento County Superior Courthouse, located at Seventh and I streets.
