"Enon: Die Missionshäuser, etwas rechts Besuchshaus, dann Winkel, Wohnhaus, Küchenhaus, links davon Wirtschaftgebäude, ganz links Kirche + Glocke. Br. Gericke vorn." ("Enon: The mission houses, further right guest house, then shop, dwelling house, kitchen house, left of it farm building, [on] [the] far left church and bell. Br[other] Gericke in the foreground."). The picture shows a couple of buildings. Trees stand behind them. On the far right branches of a bush. On the far left part of a church building. A wooden construction with a bell stands next to it. In front of it a fence. Behind the construction with the bell stands a tree. In the backgound mountains. In front of one of the buildings in the center walks a man with dark colored cloths. Written on the card board: "P. Theile, 1934." Friedrich Wilhelm Gericke (1868-1944) was a missionary in Labrador from 1896 to 1907 and in South Africa (Genadendal, Elim and Enon) from 1909 to 1935. -- The term "Winkel" (shop) is a word taken from Afrikaans.
