Description
Jean Lipman-Blumen discusses her book, “The Allure of Toxic Leaders.” She begins by talking about her teaching position at the Peter Drucker School of Business at the Claremont Graduate University. She explains how people are naturally drawn to authority figures and see them as extensions of their parents. Lipman-Blumen describes qualities that make good and bad leaders and the difference between a political leader and a business leader. She also discusses the kinds of followers that go along with toxic leaders and how they rationalize their behavior. Martinson asks Lipman-Blumen to read the last paragraph from her book and summarize the book’s ideas.
