Description
203 East Blithedale Photo shows a two-story, stucco and wood trim building behind two bare street trees. There is a parking area on the left side of the ground floor and wooden steps going up the center of the building to the upper floor. Multiple windows go across the the upper floor and a row of skylights are visible across the front of the roof. Ahn enclosed description from the 1983 Walk into History reads, "A house was built prior to 1904 by the Young family. The small building at 9 Dell Street was the barn of the original property. Mrs. Young's brother, Nick Yost, operated the Mill Valley Lumber Yard. He is credited with having the first lumber yard and owning the first automobile in Mill Valley. The property is still owned by decendants of the Youngs who had 14 children, eight of whom died in infancy. The house was torn down to be replaced by apartments."
