Description
Joanna Barnes discusses her book, “Pastora.” The book covers the events that occurred in the United States between 1844 and 1869. Barnes describes some of the characters in the book and the environment in San Francisco, California. She talks about the discrimination against the Chinese and prostitution. Barnes also discusses the vulnerability of male gold miners, the economic troubles in France, and Charley Parkhurst, a stagecoach driver.
