(For future use, Negatives to Riblett). #1 and #2: Long views of undeveloped land owned by Harbor Department -- along San Pedro shore of Los Angeles Harbor's main channel. #3 and #4: Assemblyman Vincent Thomas examining loose timber and gaping hole in San Pedro's 60-year-old onetime lumber wharf -- now abandoned except for mooring of harbor tugs. #5 and #6: Long view of 60-year-old onetime lumber wharf -- now owned by Harbor Department but undeveloped. #7: Long view of new San Pedro Fish Market facilities in Los Angeles harbor. #8: Long view of boats tied up at Fisherman's Wharf. The wharf and fish market are only new structures in San Pedro section of the harbor in the last 40 years. #9: A tanker heads down main channel past San Pedro's undeveloped waterfront. #12: Long view North from San Pedro ferry building, showing dilapidated docks along city's waterfront. #13: View of ferry coming into San Pedro. #14: Shot of ships at now Matson Terminal. #15: Long view of Bascule drawbridge, with new Commodore Hei, Lift Bridge in the background. Wharf is 50 years old. #19: Another view of Berths 45 to 51 along decrepit docks leased by Outer Harbor Dock and Wharf Co. in San Pedro. #20: Vacant stores on 6th Street, San Pedro's main shopping district. There are 78 vacant stores in central shopping district, 250 throughout the entire downtown area. #21: Long view of nearly deserted 6th Street, San Pedro, on what should be a busy Saturday afternoon. #22: Freighter Fairland loading drums of asphalt at busy Long Beach Harbor, where oil revenues in last 15 years has built a port that is threatening to outgrow Los Angeles Harbor. #23: Exterior view of Port of Los Angeles' Foreign Trade Zone, a new harbor installation in San Pedro's outer harbor. Here foreign ships can land cargo duty-free for repackaging and re-shipment out of U.S. The enterprise, however, has been losing money. #24 and #25: View of large empty stores on 6th Street in San Pedro's downtown shopping district".
