Harry and Lillian Levine, the parents of donors Evelyn Levine Kingsley and Marian Levine Mittelman, emigrated from Latvia to Cincinnati, Ohio, about 1923. The family moved to Los Angeles in 1937 for Harry's health, where they operated City Terrace Tailor & Cleaner. The building of the business also served as their home. Evelyn became a stage and motion picture actress. She appeared in the 1972 movie, "Toys Are Not for Children." She belonged to Temple Beth Meier and Actors Equity. Evelyn married Gershon Kingsley in 1950 and died in 2000. She was 71. Marian married Elkin Mittelman, chief executive officer of Western Trade Publishing Co. in Woodland Hills, CA. He died on Christmas Day 2019 at the age of 100. Marian died in 2021, two weeks prior to her 91st birthday. The Lazar Suntup family poses for a family photograph circa 1940 in Rega, Latvia.
