Original photograph has a small stain on the lower left side of the picture. First photograph caption dated September 15, 1956 reads "Designed by architect Edward David Davies of Altadena, Calvary Lutheran Church in Panorama City presents arresting exterior. Contemporary architects are using less expensive materials in unique manner to achieve modern look without loss of traditional feeling. Stucco is principal material in this church with steel reinforcing the metal-covered steeple, whose white coating contrasts effectively with darker tones of main structure."; Second photograph caption dated November 2, 1957 reads "Contrasting color. Dark tones of main structure contrasts (sic) with white steeple and roof of Calvary Lutheran Church, 8800 Woodman Ave., Pacoima. Church sponsors day school for kindergarten through sixth grade age, supervised by Robert Nilsen, principal. Pastor is the Rev. A. R. H.
