Description
Photograph caption dated July 6, 1954 reads "Lancaster, where the turning of earth marked the start of a new hospital, a General Telephone Company office building and a Baptist Church all within this week, also observed the start of a $90,000 Antelope Valley Medical Center. Left to right, taking place in the groundbreaking, were James Bacon, H. E. Kicenski, MD, director of the center (which will move from Cedar avenue); H. J. Gray, DDS, dental director; J. M. Krause, M.D., Palmdale associate and Vernon Ward, president of the Chamber of Commerce."
