Photograph caption dated August 7, 1964 reads, "Four-year-old Suzan Gail Hoskins and her mother prepare to board a plane at Van Nuys Airport for the trip home to Apple Valley after an operation in which Suzan's hearing was restored." Suzan's hearing was impaired from suffering sixteen bouts of pneumonia.
