Due to prosperity after the end of the second world war, Burbank saw a population increase by approximately 12,000 in 1950 to over 90,000 in 1960. This caused the need for more housing. Agriculture began to dwindle and commerce and industry grew. This image shows construction of new homes during this time. Circa 1950s. This image came from a collection of images donated by the Delores Palmer Estate. She was a BUSD employee for many years and authored the book "A History of Burbank."
