Photograph caption dated July 11, 1955 reads, "First patient to be admitted to newly opened UCLA medical center's 320-bed hospital is Franklin J. Stoetzel, 14400 Magnolia Blvd., North Hollywood, who is given care by nurse Bessie Berglund. Hospital is operating in conjunction with UCLA medical school."
