This collection includes approximately 40,000 photographs by commercial photographer Ralph Morris, who worked in the Los Angeles area from 1939-1981. His advertising and industrial clients included department stores, restaurants, the automobile and petroleum industries as well as business executives. Also included is the Luckhaus Studio collection of architecture, fashion, the movie industry, sports and street scenes, images which Morris obtained in 1939. View 2 - Five women identified as "Florentine Girls", show how limber they are by doing acrobatic and/or handstand exercises on one of the numerous beaches in Southern California. In this photo, one young lady lays on her back with knees bent, while supporting the shoulders of a second woman that is doing a "hand-stand" on the first woman's knees as three others watch this exercise routine. Three of these beach beauties have been identified as: Barbara Moffett, Yvonne Elmore (DeCarlo), and Betty Emore. It is unknown which girl is which.
