Description: When a shortage of money threatened to close the Police Community Center in their community (a haven for victims of crime or people in trouble), residents of Koreatown raised $13,000.00 for operating funds. In this picture John Kim, chairman of the fund-raising committee, hands checks to Joan Singer, chairwoman of the Wilshire Community Police Council. Photo dated: April 21, 1984.
