Photograph article dated March 9, 1962 reads, "William Edward Lane was reported for drunk driving early this morning. He was on a horse. West Valley police received the complaint shortly after midnight today that a man was drunk in the saddle near Tampa Ave. and Saitcoy St. in Reseda. When officers caught up with Lane, 40, a Canoga Park unemployed carpenter, they found him in a telephone booth trying to sell the horse to someone in Thousand Oaks. Because Lane had dismounted when police found him, he was booked at Van Nuys jail on a drunk charge. His vehicle, a light-tan, late model compact, was parked pending identification by his owner, behind the West Valley Police Station, where he was eating grass." Pictured are owner Darrel Wright, 20, and Officer Harry Brewster with "vehicle."
