Photograph article date stamped December 28, 1962 partially reads, "A chill wind whistled down the narrow confines of the Arroyo Seco and dark clouds gathered ominously over the giant stadium as the young high school quarterback sat watching his first Rose Bowl game... This is a dream that has been the fervent possession of many a youngster, but for Hal Bedsole the dream has come true. Bedsole, USC's All-American, All-Coast, All-AAWU, all-everything end, will witness his second Rose Bowl game on Jan. 1, 1963, as a participant from the field."
