Founded in 1957 from Congregationalist churches of New England, the United Church of Christ was formed by the union of two denominations: the Congregational Christian Church and Evangelican and Reformed Church. It is a mainline Protestant Christian denomination principally in the United States. According to the 2007 yearbook, the United Church of Christ has approximately 1.2 million members and is composed of approximately 5,518 local congregations. Exterior view of the Los Angeles Samoan Community Christian Church UCC, located on the corner of 1200 S. Kenmore Ave. and W. 12th Street. It shows a large, white church with brown roof and brown trim; several towers are visible, the largest one displaying a cross. Verso on photo lists the Pastor as Rev. Samuelu G.
