When Federal Theater Project Workers prepared the baskets around which they are shown, to be distributed to nine members who had been dropped from the relief rolls during the year they had visions of a gay and happy Christmas. Many old time actors and actresses had contributed to the basket fund, but today many found themselves about to join the ranks of those they were to aid. A new reduction in relief rolls has resulted in dismissal of a large number of the project workers. Photo dated: December 24, 1938.
