The case was brought against Hedy by her two lawyers, Morton B. Harper and William G. Israel, who claimed that she owed them $15,500 for past services. Lamarr starred in the Italian-made "The Love of Three Queens," which was only shown in Italy and, therefore, didn't generate any profits and ultimately left Lamarr without the funds to pay her lawyers. Photograph caption dated September 17, 1962 reads, "Hedy Lamarr, facing $15,500 suit. 'I was in very deep shock at the time.'"
