Description
Photograph of the students of the Cahuenga Pass School with their teacher in Hollywood, California, 1891. Thirty-nine students are posed in three rows in front of an exterior wall with shutters and clapboard. The steps leading to the entrance are just visible behind their teacher, Mrs. Mott, who stands with them to the left. The child in the frontmost row is barefoot, unlike the rest, while in the back row an older girl supports a younger girl by the shoulders. To the left near Mrs. Mott, a taller girl cradles a doll.
