Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph caption dated February 3, 1960 reads, "Customer and employes [sic] at Salvation Army's thrift store, 6059 Van Nuys Blvd., Van Nuys, were surprised by visit from famous film star Gloria Swanson who paused for visit and to make donation of surplus articles. She was greeted by Brigadier Eldin K. Tobin, officer in charge of store. Salvation Army's rehabilitation work has interested Miss Swanson for years."
