The photograph shows a side view of Vernal Falls as it cascades in full breadth over a ledge; a portion of the ledge leading up to the falls is shown in the upper right; spray ascends from the lower left corner as the falls hit the bottom; on both sides of Vernal Falls the rock faces and trees growing in the rocks are visible.
