Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Sanchez Rancho adobe in San Pedro Valley, about fifteen miles south of Golden Gate, 1937. At center, a two-story building with the words "Adobe house" emblazoned along the edge of its balcony, is visible. In the foreground, an upturned stump sits in a bed of long grass. Mountains can be seen in the background. Previous notes with record read: "near Rockaway Beach, now occupied by Hawaiians. An artichoke field. The first Portola Expedition camped near here and it was from the hills back of Pedro Valley that the expedition first saw San Francisco Bay".
