Photograph caption dated March 4, 1959 reads, "One of above lovelies will be named Palmdale Lilac Queen Friday at Yucca Auditorium. Contestants are from left, front row, Sharon Brunette, Linda Pridgen, Susan Smith, Cindy Wall and Mae Mead. In back row are, Sandy Bloomberg, Martha Schweich, Illa Batdorf, Patti Davis and Celeste Eisenhauer. Four princesses will also be selected by judges to reign at annual Lilac Show to be held later in spring. Coronation ball will follow queen's selection."
